Dragostea se dezvaluia lent

Dragostea se dezvaluia lent. Intre timp,
cineva a trait. Chiar mai multi. Etaj de etaj,
in orice firida, mijeau chipuri: se turnau copii,
fundatii de cladiri, se ascundea aur sub dale.
Tu erai forta alba a asteptarii, conul de lumina
deschis. Dragostea se dezvaluia lent: aceasta
cuprindere n vaz, transportul tuturor, pliati,
in arca translucida. Se foloseau de tine, linistiti,
sa i treci. Un Charon al lumii acesteia.
Traiau in draci. Se osteneau cu viata. Din trup
li se ridica fum. Isi dadeau pruncii la ore de chitara,
de acordeon. Pupau maini, sa treaca examene.
La proba, croitorul le acoperea cu stofe
soldul in ardere. Te asurzeau cu manele,
cu zgomot de picamer. Casele trebuiau ridicate.
Si tu i treceai cu barca transparenta, numai in somn,
in virtutea unui drept de libera trecere –
pentru care nu ei platisera.

Love was revealed slowly

Love was revealed slowly. Meanwhile,
someone lived. More than one, actually. Floor by floor,
in any recess, faces appeared: children were begotten,
building foundations were cast, gold was being hidden under slabs.
You were the white force of waiting, the light cone
spread open. Love was revealed slowly: this
acreage in plain sight, the transport of them all, collapsed,
in the translucent ark. They would use you, freely,
to cross over. A Charon of this world.
They lived with anger. They fought with life. Smoke
would come from their bodies. They would have their infants take guitar
and accordion lessons. They would kiss hands, to pass exams.
When being fitted, the tailor would cover their burning hip
with cloth. They would deafen you with manele songs,
with the noise of a pick hammer. Houses had to be built.
And you would help them cross with the transparent boat, in your sleep alone,
by virtue of a right of passage –
which they had not paid.
