Om de apa

De ar fi sa ma mai nasc,
fa ma un om de apa ori unul de metal,
iar nu de foc. De pamant?
Sa ia sfarsit traseele de flacari
ce ma spinteca,
asa cum pana n varf cararea
taie un munte.
Sa fiu o insula n mijlocul marii,
eu, care m am gandit mereu
la singuratatea stancii scaldate de valuri
si care am inteles ca piatra aceea singura
are mai mult curaj decat mine.
Dar, daca trebuie,
fa ma aceasta lava
sau fumul din jurul ei,
poate am sa inteleg mai bine viata.

Water Man

Was I to be born yet again,
Make me a water man or a metal one,
But not a man of fire.Maybe earth?
Let the ripping flaming routes come to an end,
As the path cuts the mountain to the top.
Let me be an island in mid sea,
Me, who have always thought of the loneliness of the wave-soaked cliff
And who have understood that lonely stone has more courage than me.
But, if need b,
Make me this lava
Or smoke around it,
Maybe I’ll grasp life better.
