Dear Lavinia,

It might be too late, but I did want to respond to your request for a few words about the various readings, or I should say, the one I took part in with you and Elena in Cambridge. Firstly, I felt it was an appropriate venue, though small, it was cosy, nice coffee and nice atmosphere of people. Better to have a small place filled than a big one empty. I felt both you and Elena were very professional, and I enjoyed listening to you read the poems that had been translated. For those of us who are not used to having a translation follow, sometimes it is hard to remember that more is to come. I also thought the readers from the floor were particularly interesting. My only regret was having to dash for a train afterwards as I would have liked to chat casually with you all.
You are all doing a wonderful job by the way, and I know it has not been easy, nor am I easy to translate, even from English to English.
I can't think what else to say but to wish you every success in future.
