Willendorf Venus

My man showed me the stone he’d carved,
said it was me. It had my curls
but was not like the women I know.

I have big breasts, fed my ten children,
but these boobs were enormous,
also the hips and stomach
and the labia,
curved as my lips.

If I could carve a stone I’d make a man.
He would be tall and strong
just like my man.

I’d give him hands and arms for bow and arrows
to kill the wild black boar and the red deer,
and make him a big penis, long as his arms,
to give me ten more children.

Venus din Willendorf

Barbatul meu mi-a aratat piatra pe care-a cioplit-o,
si-a zis ca-s eu. Avea buclele mele
dar mie nu mi se parea ca-i o femeie.

Am sinii mari, am alaptat zece copii
dar titele-astea imi pareau enorme,
la fel si soldurile si stomacul,
si labiile,
arcuite ca buzele mele.

Dac-as sti sa sculptez, as face un barbat.
Ar fi la fel de inalt si de voinic
ca si barbatul meu.

I-as sculpta brate cu care sa tina arcul si sageata
cu care sa ucida ursul negru si cerbul rosu,
si i-as modela un penis mare, lung cit bratul,
cu care sa-mi mai faca vreo zece copii.
